Porcelain Fungi - colour

Porcelain Fungi - colour

Oudemansiella mucida. The globules of lime hanging from the gills are near perfect glass-like spheres. This beautiful fungi is normally seen growing high in the branches of a living beech tree (they're at home on small pockets of dead wood). Thankfully this one was low to the ground as there is no room for a ladder in my camera bag.
