A day out in Portishead

Sorry for the gap - I've been away for some rest and relaxation.

To round off the holiday I visited Portishead with Louise (Mrs A) last Friday.

We really made the best of a beautiful day. Moving at a gentle pace we started in the old town, walked up to Battery Point, where we lingered on a park bench to take in the view of the Severn, and then we strolled into the redevelopment overlooking the Marina.

It was very quiet amongst the new flats and houses - peaceful, serene. I liked the atmosphere, but I have a feeling that this dormatory for Bristol is very different at the weekends.

There is a wealth of public art but I was really taken by Rick Kirby's Angels. Visit the urban landscapes gallery to see some more of them.

We also visited Waitrose for some cake and ginger beer - well we felt we'd earned it! We ate it whilst parked up overlooking the lake - perfect.
